Monika Sosnowska was born in Ryki, Poland in 1972 and currently lives and works in Warsaw.

She studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam and the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. She was awarded the Bâloise Prize at Art Basel, and the Polityka’s Passport award.
