Adel Abdessemed

Abdessemed has produced, in close collaboration with Cahiers d’Art, a series of digital prints in 2016.

This series represents animals: an owl, a deer and a pigeon, around which an explosive is attached. This video is reminiscent of the artist’s video entitled Printemps, which shows chickens on fire. The violence, which is very present in the artist’s work and according to him, is a confrontation that breaks with norms. “It’s the world that is violent, not me”.

This series is signed and numbered. Four leaves make up the Deer and the Pigeon, adding a monumental dimension to the violence of the work.
